Jayden publishes his prices, which most detailers do not. A Basic Detail is $110 for a small car, $130 large and $140 extra large. A Full Detail — the complete inside-and-out reset most people mean by detailing — is $180, $200 and $220. An Extreme Detail, for vehicles that have been genuinely lived in, is $300, $350 and $400. Interior-only work starts at $150 and exterior-only at $220. Cut and polish and ceramic coating are quoted individually, because the price depends on the condition of the paint rather than the size of the car.

A Basic Detail takes two to three hours and a Full Detail three to five. An Extreme Detail is usually a full day, because the interior work is the slow part. A cut and polish is a one to two day job since the paint is corrected in stages, and ceramic coating runs two to three days because the coating has to cure before the car goes back on the road.

Both. Most work is completed at Jayden’s location in Ballina where lighting and conditions are controlled, which matters a great deal for polishing and coating. Mobile detailing is available across the Northern Rivers for suitable jobs, and pick-up and drop-off can be arranged if getting the car to Ballina does not suit your day.

Ceramic coating is a hard, hydrophobic layer that chemically bonds to your paint and protects it for up to five years. On the Northern Rivers coast it earns its place, because salt air, UV and airborne fallout attack unprotected paint continuously. It also makes washing far quicker, since dirt struggles to key into the surface. It is worth noting that a coating preserves whatever condition the paint is in, so any correction has to be done first.

Most swirl marks, light scratches and oxidation can be machine polished out. Deeper scratches that have gone through the clear coat cannot be polished away, and Jayden will tell you that honestly rather than take the job. This is exactly what the photos and the quote call are for: assessing what is realistically achievable on your paint before you commit.

Ballina is the base, with regular work across Lennox Head, Byron Bay, Alstonville, Wollongbar, Goonellabah, Lismore, Evans Head, Bangalow, Suffolk Park, Ocean Shores and Casino. If you are elsewhere in the Northern Rivers, ask, because it is usually workable.

Because condition drives the price far more than the make and model does. Two identical cars can need completely different work depending on how they have been used and cared for. A few clear photos let Jayden quote accurately the first time, instead of guessing on the phone and then revising the price when the car arrives.

A week of notice is comfortable; less than that is often still possible, so it is always worth asking.

A Basic Detail is upkeep for a car that is already looked after: hand wash, wheels, vacuum, glass and a wipe down. A Full Detail adds decontamination, wax or sealant, and proper interior work including the boot, door jambs and seat rails. An Extreme Detail is for vehicles that have been genuinely lived in, with deep extraction and shampoo, heavy contamination removal and paint decontamination.
